The prestigious Port Louis Marina, Grenada

Grenada and The Grenadines are widely considered to be the most unspoilt cruising grounds in the Caribbean.  Famed for its people’s warm and gregarious hospitality the ‘Spice Island’ of Grenada has a varied topography of mountains, rainforests and waterfalls, fringed by icing sugar beaches and cooled by trade winds.

As the closest island to the Grenadines with an international airport, and lying south of the hurricane belt, Grenada offers a year round safe haven in the southern Caribbean. The Grenadines and Grenada also provide easy access to a variety of other cruising destinations such as Trinidad and Venezuela, as well as Canouan Island in the Grenadines. Additionally Grenada’s close proximity to Barbados makes it ideal for residential owners there, to make the short flight to cruise the idyllic Grenadines.

Overlooking the historic capital St Georges, the prestigious Port Louis Marina opened in 2007 and has transformed Grenada’s yachting amenities. Owned and managed by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas since early 2008, the luxury marina supplies all the services of a state-of-the-art marina. Designed to reflect the traditional Creole architecture, the marina offers 170 berths, including 30 superyacht berths for vessels from 25m to 90m LOA, and 7m drafts.

The luxury marina is home to one of the top restaurants on the island, in the Victory Bar & Grill, overlooking the superyacht dock and picturesque Carenage. The dining scene on the island is varied, ranging from local fare at BB’s Crabback on the Carenage, to international cuisine fused with Caribbean offerings at Savvy’s restaurant at Mt.

Grenada hosts a full calendar of boating events throughout the year. From the annual Grenada Sailing Festival, to the Spice Island Billfish Tournament, Grenada is fast becoming known as the Caribbean’s ultimate yachting destination.
