Tropical Trend
Posted on: June 14th, 2013 by TarynFeeling somewhat inspired by our recent visit to Hawaii, I wondered how I would design the decor of a tropical home (if we had one!)…first thing that might come to mind is Tommy Bahama or Tiki… NO THANKS! (No offense intended, but we have a much more modern aesthetic…). Inspired by design icons like Dorothy Draper, who’s “Brazilliance” Wallpaper has inspired generations to come…today’s hottest designers like Tory Burch and Nate Berkus use this palm frond wallpaper to create the chicest of spaces.
There is a way to infuse some fresh tropical style into your decor…and this tropical trend is EVERYWHERE…you just have to know where to look and how to do it right, and tastefully. From fashion, fabrics, wallpapers and decor … here’s how we think this should be done…
The image showing the Pink Dining set, with the Palm Frond wallpaper is actually Nicky Hiton’s space, we made all the furniture for her for this room, our Hollywood outdoor collection, view here:

But also shown below in the image gallery…inspired by the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel…images below for your viewing pleasure, these images invoke a feeling of nostalgia and retro Hollywood regency era glamor…
Our favorite accent colors for this fun tropical trend are the fresh pinks and soft blues…take yourself away with this fresh design choice…ENJOY!

Bold Geometrics
Posted on: June 6th, 2013 by TarynA noteworthy trend taking over this year in art, architecture, fashion and home decor, is the use of bold geometrics. In vibrant hues and graphic patterns made of hexagons and triangles, using geometry in your home can add a punch! Layering patterns in a mix and match way can create unique spaces…layer a little or layer a lot…

Color Crush: Navy & Yellow
Posted on: May 30th, 2013 by TarynAs a continuation of the earlier blog post “Fuchsia & Cobalt”, I wanted to show how versatile a color navy and cobalt blue can be. Shown here accented with bright pops of sunny yellows…it takes on a whole new summery dimension.
Sunshine + Blue skies = Happiness 🙂
A Color Story
Posted on: May 22nd, 2013 by TarynIn a world that can be sad, stressful and downright dull at times…at ModShop we choose color to brighten our own lives and those we reach with our fun furnishings and accessories. We believe that adding color to your home (or office space) creates a happy, inspiring environment, in which to thrive…that in turn creates happy families 🙂
Why be safe (code for: bland and boring) when there are so many wonderful, vibrant shades to choose?
Use a little or use a LOT! Here are some fun images we found showing how many options there can be…and our own pieces featured in a variety of custom shades. Keep in mind that we can do ANY color, so the sky is the limit on what you could create (well maybe just as high as the top of the rainbow)…
What color are you?
Color Crush: Navy & Fuchsia
Posted on: May 14th, 2013 by TarynThis week, we are seriously obsessing over this dramatic color combination: Fuchsia and Navy (or Hot Pink and Cobalt blue if you prefer).
Girly pink accents in neutral navy spaces create a fresh, unique, unexpected look. Using luxurious blue velvets and dark blue painted walls allows the vibrant pink shade to pop even more than you would expect.
