Furniture & Fashion: The Dining Room

As a follow up to our post in January: runway inspired color, this time for the dining room. Dining room chairs are available in every color to suit any fashionista’s dining room decor…

Blacks & Browns – “Industrial Glam”

To define “Industrial Glam” style in ModShop’s words: the juxtaposition of more masculine decor using organic materials like wood, metal and stone, and adding a touch of femininity and glam with finishes like shiny brass and chrome accents, and soft hand tufted detail on black leather sofas… Here’s what inspired us and how we would incorporate our pieces into a space that is Industrial Glam…

Inspiration by artist : Piet Mondrian

Inspiration by artist : Piet Mondrian It seems the world round, design aficionado’s have looked to Dutch artist Piet Mondrian for inspiration. His famous “Modrian” piece, simplistic with rigid black lines and primary color blocks seems to have inspired in every artistic avenue, from architecture, furniture design and fashion. We are amazed that the iconic piece was painted almost 100 years ago in 1914, and yet is so modern and relevant even today. Here’s what we found inspiring and how we would do it using our pieces…

The Furniture & Fashion Connection: “Menswear style”

The menswear trend seems to be here to stay; from the runway to the streets, tomboy style and boyfriend jeans are both sexy and casual at the same time…This trend works well in decor too! You might say these are highly “suit”able fabrics to use on upholstery, and creates a “tailor made” look in any space… Pinstripe, herringbone, houndstooth and plaid…nubby textured tweeds, flannel & leather with contrast stitching, we can think of a thousand ways to incorporate these dapper suiting fabrics into home decor… ]

Trend Alert!…Pastels

If you haven’t noticed a trend making it’s way out of the candy store and onto the runway then you must be on a diet! Fresh pastels and sorbet shades… so yummy you can almost taste them. Inspiration pics show the funkier side of this pastel trend. Unusual for winter season runway shows, but a welcome change from the usual brights and a great compliment to winter neutrals… These softer shades will transition well into spring fashions… and we at Room Service think this trend will make home decor nothing but sweet… here’s how we would do it:
