Color Crush: Chartreuse

This week we are crushing on one of my favorite colors: Chartreuse. It’s an alluring shade that is not quite yellow, not quite green…it hovers ever so elegantly right in between! So versatile and elegant. This unique color got its name originally due of its resemblance to the green color of one of a French liqueur called “Green Chartreuse” which was introduced in 1764. Inspiration by artist : Piet Mondrian It seems the world round, design aficionado’s have looked to Dutch artist Piet Mondrian for inspiration. His famous “Modrian” piece, simplistic with rigid black lines and primary color blocks seems to have inspired in every artistic avenue, from architecture, furniture design and fashion. We are amazed that the iconic piece was painted almost 100 years ago in 1914, and yet is so modern and relevant even today. Here’s what we found inspiring and how we would do it using our pieces…
