Contemporary Shakin Stevens House, Melbourne

Melbourne-based design studio Matt Gibson Architecture + Design have completed the Shakin Stevens House project. The stunning contemporary property can be found in Melbourne, Australia. According to the architects: “The conceptual drive for the interior of this house is largely in response to a brief which crystallised into a need to be connected with ‘green’ space. Beyond the heritage front the project wanted to not necessarily increase floor area but to increase amenity. To make spaces feel bigger, more functional, to be light filled, and to visually extend and borrow from within and beyond the site. “The contemporary Melbourne property is not only about a coloured front door but the experience of what’s beyond … Continue reading Contemporary Shakin Stevens House, Melbourne

Contemporary Power Street Property, Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne-based design studio Steve Domoney Architecture has designed the Power Street Residence. The single-storey contemporary home can be found in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. According to the architects: “This established contemporary Melbourne home had previously undergone renovation with rear additions providing family living, dining and kitchen spaces. These regrettably fell short of providing an agreeable layout and flow for the family, being awkward in configuration, somewhat confined in height and lacking in good natural light. A complete rethink of this space and its relationship to its garden setting was called for. It was agreed the best remedy would be to start afresh whilst generally keeping to the existing envelope so as not to diminish the available garden … Continue reading Contemporary Power Street Property, Melbourne, Australia
